In 2017, Team Fly4aCure was founded by Samir and Saar Shah. As part of their campaign, they hosted a Kite Festival held on March 17, 2018, in Leonardtown, Maryland. Their efforts earned them the title of Maryland Students of the Year. Raising more money than any other candidate in the country, these boys were also named National Students of the Year.

In 2020, Neelam Shah and Naggena Ohri continued the legacy of Team Fly4aCure hosting an amazing multicultural showcase of music and dance, called Rhythm 2020, which led to their title of Maryland and National Students of the Year for 2020.

In fact, since 2018, Team Fly4aCure and its affiliated teams, have placed 1st or 2nd every year among all candidate teams in Maryland.
